Tried and tested: Cafe Du Cycliste Fleurette jersey

It’s not so long ago that cycling gear was either very logo heavy (think team jersey’s) or just very dull, and it certainly wasn’t cool. Now there are fab brands popping up all over the place and there is actually CHOICE, which for female cyclists is pretty much unheard of. I’ve long been a fan of Cafe Du Cycliste, the French brand giving Rapha a run for their money in the style stakes, so when they offered the Fleurette top to test I jumped at the chance. (Note: The top is black, as shown in the last image in the gallery, not brown as it looks in these images taken on a sunny day) Click on the images below for a picture-by-

This top is designed for serious cyclists and hot days, I am not a racing cyclist, nor has it been particularly hot – but I love this top so much I am tempted to buy the white colour way too.

For

Style. Top marks for a sporty yet understated chic style. I love it and what’s more it would suit anyone of any age depending on what you team it with.

Fit. I ordered a size too big because I am not a serious cyclist and I like cake… So this is an x-large, which probably equates to a 16 (given that it’s aimed at competitive cyclists). I am a 14, so it’s a little loose in places, but nicely so. It’s well cut, so it still works like this despite being designed to fit tightly.

Detail. The back pockets, gripper tape hem and choice of sleeve lengths are all great.

Fabric. Comfortable, easy to wash, quick drying. lovely.

Presentation. It come’s in it’s own, lovely reusable zip bag.

Against

– Price. It’s hard to find anything wrong here, except maybe the price – but I would prefer to buy thins one nice thing and have it for ever, rather than 2-3 cheaper things.
