Summer 2015 Goals

Happy Summer!  Today was my last full day of work so I am officially on summer break! Hallelujah!  I love those kids but teachers need a break at the end of the year!  Summer is that time for us to rejuvenate and get ready for the next year.  I had a wonderful year in fifth grade but the awesome thing about being a teacher is you get the opportunity to start over every year! This summer, I have lots of things going on and I have a list of tutoring students but I still want to set goals so the summer doesn’t go by and I’m like, “Agggghhhhh!  Only a week left of summer!  I better start on that to-do list!”  Anyone

Keep calm teachers summer break is on

I better start on that to-do list!”  Anyone know that feeling?  I don’t want to waste the next two months!

Here are my summer goals, not just for weight loss but what I want to do for me:

  • Walk – I need to start walking again.  I have not done so well with exercise lately and I need to get out there and walk.  I am going to set my goal to four days a week of at least 2 miles each time.
  • Eat fresh fruits and veggies – You know I need to do better at this.  I want to eat at least two fruits and two veggies per day over the summer.  What excuse do I have not to?  They are so good this time of year!
  • Clean out clutter – My house has some extra clutter in it.  I want to clean out the clutter and organize my living space so I feel better.  I know having a clean, organized environment helps you have a better life and that is what I would love to do.
  • Come up with a schedule –  I am going to scour Pinterest for a cleaning organizing schedule for the summer and then, I am going to stick to it.  I will get my schedule done for tutoring and cleaning and then I will allow myself some rest time.
  • Blog More – “More” being at least three times a week.  It’s summer…that can be done.
  • Spend time with friends and family – I want to go the pool, go to lunch with friends, play, and relax.  After all, isn’t that what summer is all about?  Sometimes I have a tendency to not rest and take time for me.  This summer, I need some me time and that includes time with friends and family.

There you go.  My goals for the summer.  Some health related and some mental health related.
